Monday, 31st: Forgetful

Truthfully, I will admit I am prone to forgetting things at times. I forgot to turn the oven off last night, frequently forget to turn lights off, and significantly to taking photographs of my art work before they are gone, etc etc. I go through stages of efficiency,  but I guess everyone does – right?

Anyway, a few weeks ago a lady got in contact about doing a commission piece of her two pugs, after seeing my little Pablo painting;

Pablo, acrylic on canvas, 50 x 50cm

I was honestly thrilled to pieces! I have never had a commission request from a complete stranger so this was an exciting opportunity. We chatted, and I received photographs from her and worked up a fair sized painting (which I forgot to take a decent photograph of so I apologise);

Lilly and Ella, acrylic on canvas, 60 x 90cm
In Situ

Really,  the painting felt such a big scale to work on,  and yet looks so tiny in the living space. Hopefully I will be able to do something like this again soon.

In the meantime,  I have finished my 90cm diameter circle piece for my university work, (photos to come tomorrow hopefully if I remember); with a couple other paintings on the way. I am really looking forward to the exhibition in May, 2016 has flown out of our hands it feels so I have no doubt that the exhibition will be knocking at the door in a heartbeat.

Distracting myself, I completed a quick afternoon painting last week;

Enigma, acrylic on canvas, 30cm diameter

‘Enigma’ being the word of the day after partially watching The Imitation Game, but also connoting mystery and secrecy. This little painting is for sale if anyone wishes to purchase, although I will be adding it to my Etsy shop over the coming weeks so keep a look out!
