Thursday, 26th: Rosey Beginnings

It has been an entire year since I have lived in this house (with Tom of course) so I treated us to some flowers; They are really for me……Hehe. I was on a scout for some white flowers, but there was little selection really. There was a little bunch of white tulips but they looked…

Sunday, 22nd: Blossoms and Roses

I have loved painting Cherry Blossom,  I love the flowers and their short stay. Aspects of this painting I wish I had done differently (a paler ground and stem, as well as maybe a little green in there) but I felt that it was finished at this stage. It’s very figurative,  I may attempt another…

Friday, 20th: Cherry Blossom progress

I aways tell myself just will allow for a lie in on Fridays, but that never seems to happen. It isn’t so bad though, at least I can get in some painting before work. The feedback from my assessment stated I should consider to be more abstract in my approach as this will give a…

Wednesday, 18th: Pablo – I think

This afternoon started off with lots of promise; I am hoping to start a painting of some cherry blossoms from outside my house before they all totally fall off. While waiting for ground to dry, I thought I’d finish of Pablo’s painting; I am really unimpressed because I keep making this worse the more I…

Sunday, 15th: Semester 1 Completion

To say I have finished my first semester brings me the greatest joy! The course of the MA so far has been tough (a lot harder than anticipated) but through all these opportunities to explore and experiment, has only led me to want to experiment more. Also, the website has had a little re-vamp so…

Wednesday, 11th: Portfolio Text

Soooooo, tomorrow is the assessment day!! Here is the text I will be using to supplement my portfolio work.       The course of the MA Portfolio module, for me, was the best opportunity to experiment within my practice, opening myself up to new concepts and mediums. However, I over-indulged. Initially I wanted to widen…

Tuesday, 10th: Grey Petals & Tainted

It’s always the way that when you have the time off to paint, you produce rubbish, but when you have very limited or rushed time, you produce masterpieces. Today was an off day (in both senses of the word) allowing for me to try an attempt at an idea I have been contemplating. I’ll show…

Wednesday, 4th: Masquerade

It seems that when deadlines are around the corner, I tend to struggle with my work ethic more so than any other time. I have been working on a couple of paintings without much considerate production, and I am massively falling behind with other aspects of the course. The last minute adrenaline needs to hit…

Friday, 29th

Today’s work in progress. I have spent a couple days on this piece and it continues to change each time I work on it. (Sorry for the poor photo the weather is shocking today).

Thursday, 28th: Fraud

Lovely little package today, beautiful white feathers. Swan feathers are surprisingly difficult to get a hold of so, I got these instead. Also something surprisingly difficult is painting white. This piece took just under 5 hours.

Sunday, 24th

A little gift for my lovely mother on her birthday, yesterday. When those who are difficult to buy for and do not hint it’s great to be able to make something for them instead.
